Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Enhancement

This activity is improving access to and the quality of professional development, coaching, mentoring and technical assistance within the Child Care Resource & Referral system. CEU bearing training events are being delivered by the system in each region on content such as Choosing and using a Curriculum and Instructional Assessment, the new Early Learning and Development Standards, and Cultural Competence.

CCR&R staff have been trained on the use of the CLASS assessment tool and many are certified and are using the assessment tool while providing TA in their communities. CCR&R staff have also been trained to facilitate Communities of Practice and these have been convened in CCR&R regions statewide. Technical Assistance staff attended a 2.0 CEU bearing course on the Art of Coaching, Mentoring and Technical Assistance and by the end of 2015 were certified and endorsed by the NC Institute for Child Development Professionals.

This Activity is completed and the RTT-ELC grant will continue to support course offerings through December 2016.
