Course on Mentoring and Technical Assistance

This activity developed a twenty hour, 2.0 Continuing Education Unit course on the “Art and Science of Early Childhood Technical Assistance” which serves as a primer for those engaged in early care and education technical assistance service delivery (consultation, coaching and mentoring) to improve the knowledge, skills and practice of North Carolina’s early learning and development workforce and the quality of its early learning and development programs.

Forty-two individuals from across the state were trained as trainers for the 2.0 CEU bearing course. As of 5/31/2015, 68 CEU sessions were offered, training 294 technical assistance practitioners.

Currently, an online, 3-semester credit hour gradual level course is being developed to ensure that the course is accessible statewide and that this work is sustainable. The course will be available through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Fall 2015.

This Activity was completed December 2015.
