This project has developed and offered intensive training for early learning administrators to improve their leadership and program management skills.

The Transformation Zone early literacy initiative supported Beaufort, Bertie, Chowan, and Hyde counties to implement Motheread and Reach Out and Read strategies to improve early literacy.

The Faith Summit project reached out to faith leaders to raise awareness of and commitment to high-quality early learning programs to increase the number of faith-based child care sites in the NC Star Rated System.

The Head Start Collaboration Office is working with local Head Start programs serving as regional hubs to provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to non-Head Start early learning programs to strengthen family engagement activities.

This Activity developed materials and provides training to support the early childhood workforce in its understanding and use of North Carolina's revised Early Learning and Development Standards.

This activity provided the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) pyramid model technical assistance and training to preschool classrooms in the Transformation Zone to support children’s healthy emotional and social development.

These Activities created more high-quality infant/toddler care programs in the Transformation Zone with resources and support from Infant-Toddler Specialists.

This Activity is designing a developmentally appropriate individualized formative assessment for K-3 children. The K-3 Assessment will provide teachers a more complete picture of the whole child (incorporating the five developmental domains) and provide data to inform daily instructional practices and help meet the needs of every child.

Local Executive Directors of Smart Start partnerships supported the state based Early Learning Challenge goals through community-based initiatives.
