Data Systems and Assessments

Several activities of the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant are strengthening the availability of high-quality early childhood data in North Carolina.  These activities include creating new data systems, with a focus on integrating data across systems, to provide high-quality data about early childhood programs, services and the workforce, to better inform policies and practices that ultimately support positive outcomes for children and families.

Another activity is creating a new K-3 formative assessment system to provide high-quality data on children’s learning to inform daily instruction and meet the needs of individual children to support their educational success.
